Anyone who buys a 2nd hand 2006 (or new I suppose, believe there are still a few kicking around) should check with a dealer if this recall has been addressed on their machine. The dealer simply has to punch in the VIN to the Yamaha database to confirm.

Throttle Cable Bracket

Another issue I believe worthy of mention is the factory recall regarding the throttle cable bracket on the upper left frame neck applicable to 2006 models only. Evidently the cable(s) could bind or jam under certain conditions, the fix is a slightly longer cable guide bracket the dealer installs, a very easy fix, under 5 minutes but it IS important.

Anyone who buys a 2nd hand 2006 (or new I suppose, believe there are still a few kicking around) should check with a dealer if this recall has been addressed on their machine. The dealer simply has to punch in the VIN to the Yamaha database to confirm.
