How to Check the Electrical System (Stator and Regulator)

The Stratoliner should have 14-14.5 volts at battery (2500rpm). If the voltage is lower, check the AC output from the stator. There are 3 white wires coming out of the stator which are the AC wires. The voltage on the AC should be between 40-70 volts AC (2500rpm). If voltage at battery is too high (over 15 volts) the regulator is bad, one thing to keep in mind is the battery should be fully charged before you check charging system. In most cases replace the stator & regulator as a set, if one goes bad the other is not that far behind.
